One thing that concerns me greatly and is being frequently reported on in Natural Matters, is the insiduous process of legislation designed to prevent us from buying or using 'natural', 'complementary', 'herbal' or 'traditional' medicines.
EU legislation is pending to restrict the sale of herbal remedies, homeopathic remedies and Essential Oils on the grounds that, unlike synthetic chemical drugs produced by the Pharmaceutical industry, they' havent been sufficiently tested.'
As if several thousand years of use isnt sufficient test!
They even get eminent doctors to say publicly that there is NO PROOF that these remedies work, and one has been quoted as saying that they are just 'witchcraft' (Ha! he doesnt know how right he is)
I recently read a report that in France a man is being prosecuted for publishing a book. The subject of that book? Pornograpy perhaps? Oh no, it's a gardening book. He advises how to use stinging nettles to make an organic fertiliser. (something many gardeners already know about) Aparently the manufacture of Organic Fertiliser is illegal, and it is also illegal to advertise or advise how to make organic fertilisers. They havent been TESTED.
Anyway, dont take my word for it... follow the link and read an in depth article reprinted from The Daily mail, no less.
